"Emergence" has a bright orange Phoenix as its pattern and the "Prance to the Music" pony has images of violins, trumpets, notes and a saxophone all over its body. Hello All! My apologies for a lack of entries lately but I have a good reason..! Lots of things to update you all on!

Firstly, let me introduce you to someone special. We had a new team member join us at UH HQ today. Say a big hello to my daughter, Daisy, born on the 14th August 2011. It was Daisy's first day in the office today and she can't wait to grow big enough to help out and of course play with all the horses (and dinosaurs!). I said i had a good reason for my lack of blog posts!! Hehe. The last few weeks have been a mixture of very sleepless nights and a big steep learning curve in how to multi-task on many different levels! That and type one handed!

On the news front, we have several new models to look forward to who will be galloping into the range in the next month or so. Click here to see pictures. Its great to see some of the older moulds making a comeback. "Sato", a rare palomino paint Thoroughbred, produced on the popular Cigar mould will gallop into the collection aswell as "Applejack", a very cute chestnut pony who is also the 2011 Fall Collectors edition. The Iron Metal Chief mould returns as "Prince Jester", a champion Missouri Fox Trotter and another of Elvis Presleys horses is transformed into a model. She is called "Bear". TS Black Tie Affair, a black and white Arabian Cross also joins the collection.

News of the Breyer Christmas model has also been announced. "Winter Belle" is a bay Hanoverian with a glitzy festive costume featuring bells, taseels and lots of sparkle! Club members can pre-order this model now. Pictures of the Christmas range can be found here.

On the Weather Girls front, we have Sunny and Partly Cloudly in stock now, with more Thunderstorms to follow in late September. Keep an eye on our website for an announcement of their arrival.

An fabulous product that has been added to our range today is the Pony Parade Dog Agility Set, which is a great addition to your stableyard! It features Jet, the handsome Border Collie who loves competiting in dog agility and comes with a selection of training equipment including a seesaw, weaving and jumping poles and an ‘A’ frame. Click here to read more and see piccies.

Utterly Horses 2011/2012 CatalogueGooood Afternoon! My sincere apologies for the tardest of my latest blog post. So what have I been up to? I have been tucked away behind my desk for the last few weeks putting the finishing touches on our upcoming 2011/12 catalogue (which is mammoth by the way, a whopping 64 pages!). Northlight Lipizzaner19th March 2011:
Exciting news!  Exciting news! After a stroke of fate and lots of good luck, Utterly Horses has managed to locate the last remaining Northlight Horse Models that were made here in the UK. Northlight merged with Wade pottery company in 2005, and this model was produced around this time (or even earlier) in their UK based factory. Sadly, in 2009, Wade seized production of the Northlight models and so they are getting harder and harder to find. Utterly Horses has obtained the last of the Northlight models directly from Wade and we are pleased to offer these fabulous examples of Northlight's UK craftsmanship to you.

What are Northlights?
Northlights are crafted in ceramic resin with porcelain powder to give each model a superior detailed finish. Each model was hand painted by several artists and are proudly British Made models from start to finish. They don't make them like this anymore! We have 36 models available, one of each design, and once these are gone, they are gone. This is one of the last chances to purchase an original Northlight model made in their UK factory. Click here to see these amazing models.

Exicting stuff!!
Becky :)

17th March 2011:
Hello! :) New things happening today. Firstly, we have some new products uploaded to our website- an UH Saddle Cleaning Kit and Pony Parade and Pasture Friends treat bowls. Handmade by the Utterly Horses Team, each of the treat bowls comes with 6 crunchy carrots, 6 delicious apples and a plastic bowl. Give your favourite model one of these treats or just store it in the feedroom at your stableyard. Plus the bowl doubles as a great feed bowl after your models have eaten all the goodies!!

Utterly Horses Saddle Cleaning KitOur Saddle Cleaning Kit is a product that we loved creating. It comes with a block of real Saddle Soap, two sponges (one yellow and one blue), two rags for polishing your tack, a wooden carry box and a tack themed poster. The poster details parts of the English and Western saddles, as well as bits and stirrups. It would look fabulous on your tack room wall at your stableyard. Pictures and more details can be found here.

Today i can also tell you all about "Utterly Shaheen", our Special Run Model for 2011!!!

Inspired by stories from Arabian Nights and horses that only gallop through your dreams, Utterly Shaheen (pronounced Sha-heen) is a white grey Arabian Stallion crafted for Utterly Horses by the talented team at Stone Horses. His name means "white falcon" in Arabic and he is white like a blanket of fresh snow, with a delicate pink nose that has a small black marking on it. We're sure that he will live up to his name and fly straight into anyones collection and steal your heart.

Utterly Shaheen- UH Special Run Model 2011Limited to just 30 pieces, each model comes with a unique handmade Arabian Halter featuring tassels, beads and lots of glitter crafted exclusively by Debbie Rossi of Trammel Creek Equine. No two halters are the same colour or design, so its a surprise what halter your model will come with!

Each model comes individually numbered, certificated and hand-signed by Becky of Utterly Horses, in addition to arriving in their new homes in unique purple travel bags. Utterly Shaheen is strictly limited to just 30 pieces and once they are sold out, no more will be produced.

Utterly Shaheen- UH Special Run Model 2011 Utterly Shaheen- UH Special Run Model 2011

14th March 2011:
Good Morning! :) Its Monday and the Model Horse Magazine is back from the printers! Its gorgeous and i'm really pleased with this issue. I especially love the front cover which is a welcomed change from covers that have green in them!! This issue is themed around Carousel Horses and we find out more about the history behind them, how they are made and how you can even made your own mini version. One of the big features of this issue is this our Make your Own Saddle, which has been long overdue as we know that this is one of the most frequently asked question by model horse collectors. Now you can have a go at creating your own saddle- don't forget to send us pictures of your final creations! We also find out about Kaimanawa horses, a wild horse that originates from the mountains of New Zealand. Its fascinating to discover new breeds of horses that you rarely hear about about the stories behind them. Who would have guessed that the Kaimanawa ancestors where British Welsh Ponies! To round up the issue, we also talk to one of the hobbys most sort after model horse painters, DeeAnn Kjelshus, about her work in addition to profiling some of her gorgeous equine creations. Full details of what is in the magazine can be found here.

9th February 2011:
Good Afternoon,
It’s been a while since my last post and time seems to be galloping past at the moment. This time of the year is always busy for the UH team as we are beavering away sourcing, making and creating new products for our upcoming 2011 catalogue. This year’s collection is one of the most exciting yet and I can’t wait to unveil it to you. New products, new models, new everything really. Who knows, it could even be a new website!? More details to follow as soon as I have the green light to divulge more!!

Some of the newest arrivals recently to the UH barn is the Pony Gals series. These models are a mix between realistic horses and the fun play that comes with models with a brushable mane and tail. We all love the new Pony Gals Plush sets that come with a plush pony, carry bag, treat, co-ordinating keycain and information booklet. These are great as gifts or just as a small treat for a horse lover.

Our craft kit section has also seen some fantastic arrivals, from model kits to different takes on the paint by numbers kit. Craft kits are ideal for these winter evenings when it gets dark so early. An ideal time to have a go at creating your own unique model horse and have a go at a new hobby. The UH team have each taken a kit home and are having a go at doing just that- learning to paint, sculpt, mould and create. I will post pictures of their final creations. You must also send in pictures of your latest creations! Share your models with us!

28th January 2011:
Goody BagHello! Some good news just in time for the weekend. We are delighted to offer a Free Goody Bag of Horsey Goodies with every order. Each goody bag contains a Mini Pony, Eraser, Pencil, Bella Sara Card and an Utterly Horses Activity Sheet which contains a pattern to make your own stable for your mini pony.

Like many of our other goody bags, the theme is to make and create. The Activity Sheet has a stable pattern printed onto it which you can cut out and make your very own stable for your new mini pony, who is also included in the goody bag. Have a look at the stable we created- we even coloured it in to make it very stablelike! Don't forget to send us pictures of the stables you create and we will post them on our website for everyone to see. Also in your goody bag is a pencil and eraser which you can use to have a go at drawing model horses. A little how to draw tutorial can also be found on the activity sheet.

On the Bella Sara card is an activation code which you can enter on the official Bella Sara website to put your horse online in your very own stable. Once online, you can care for your horse by feeding it, training it, brushing it and building up its energy. Bella Sara is a magical place that you can explore with your favourite horses.

PLUS! 12 lucky customers will also receive a Pony 2011 Annual. Customers that place an order between the 28th January and the 28th February will be entered into the draw to receive a Pony Annual worth £12.00! It has 100 pages packed full of PONY material, with loads of pics and all those horsey photos you love! 12 winners will be draw at random and prizes will be posted out at the beginning of March.

Afternoon all! The new models arrived today and wow, we have been spolit! The new Breyer model are absolutely gorgeous, especially Valentine and Heartbreaker, the mare and foal set. This model is available in both matte and glossy versions but this unfortunately brings the dilemna of trying to decide on which finish to have them in! Sorry! If you click on some of the new arrivals, you will also see that i have uploaded pictures of out of box models, so you can get that 360 view of each horse. I've even taken pictures of the new Schleich horses and bunnies, so please have a look at them all! They really do look as cute in real life as they do in the product pictures.

Becky :)

19th January 2011:

17th January 2011:
Hello All. It’s been a while since my last post and Christmas seems a distant memory from long ago. I hope you all had a good Christmas and a happy new year, and that your new horses have settled in okay. I had a great but hectic Christmas and even got some models as presents! Lucky me!!

So, news. Where shall I start? You will hopefully see some new faces in the Pony Parade section. The new Schleich horses have arrived and there are 9 new arrivals. Sergi the Akhal Teke from Turkmenistan, Harlequin the Knabstrupper, Dakota and Arizona the Pintos and Oreo the Poitou Donkey. There are also some horses that complete horse familys, including Chester and Poppy the Dartmoors and Honey and Belle the tiny Falabella horses. Belle is one of the cutest models we have even seen. She only measures 4 cms high but I can see her becoming a star in future photos and setups we are planning!

The Traditional Collection also has new Companion Animals, with 4 rabbits and 3 cats joining this section. They are an fantastic accessory to your stableyard and the new additions are very well detailed. The kittens are fantastic and I have to admit that these found themselves into my collection… already!! (tut tut!)

You will also find in the New Products sections of each scale details of upcoming Breyer models from their 2011 range. The Traditional Collection has 6 new horses including the new mould models Valentine & Heartbreaker, that are sure to be the top wishlists for 2011. Its also good to see the Andulcian, Cedarfarm and Strapless moulds back into the range in the form of Kripton Seni II, Kong and Headley Britannia. Strangely enough there is  only a few new accessories to the Traditional collection, a tack box, cowgirl rider and pink (!) jump, from Breyer but we are hoping to source a few more exciting accessories ourselves to add to the range. Keep an eye on the website for more detatils!

There are there 3 new Breyer Classic Horses to join the Pasture Friends range later this year, in many different colours and older moulds which is nice to see. No other news regarding new things for this range at this stage unfortunately.

The Stablemate range also has a few additions, including a new design truck and trailer and some older mould stablemates are coming back. No new Stablemate buildings from Breyer unfortunately.

Oooo, what else that I have been meaning the tell you. Oh yes!  Our Birthday Celebrations are drawing to a close but there is still time to claim your FREE Traditional Model Horse. To qualify for a FREE model, you will need to have purchased 6 Traditional Breyer Model Horses* from Utterly Horses that have been sent to the same address. Orders placed between 1st May 2010- 31st January 2011 are valid for our fantastic Birthday Celebration offer of a FREE Breyer Traditional Model Horse and please make all claims before the end on the 31st January 2011, please.

13th November 2010:
Hello! The big day is getting closer and closer. Did you know its 6 weeks exactly to the day until Christmas is here?! How exciting! Christmas is in full swing here at UH HQ and we still have lots of Christmas themed items still available. Jewel, the Christmas horse has unfortunately sold out this morning but we have many of the ornaments still available, including the Welsh Pony. This little pony would look gorgeous on anyone's Christmas tree, although we are thinking of customizing him into a model for the showring. Maybe a project for the new year!

In our Christmas section you will find models and gifts for everyone, from exclusive special run Stone model horses to our themed giftsets that seem to be at the top of Christmas wishlists this year. Our favorites set has to be the Hillcreek Stable giftset that includes a Wooden Folding Stable, Victor and Viceroy, Kate, Tack and many other accessories. Is this giftset on your wishlist this year? Just remember that some of the items listed in the Christmas section are limited, so if something is on your wishlist, please order it sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

Have you also seen the new Elvis horses galloping around the website? Rising Sun, a golden palomino American Quarter horse and favourite mount of Elvis, has been made into a Traditional Scale Breyer scale model. Each morning after breakfast, Elvis would ride Rising Sun over the fields of his estate, often stopping to greet vistors and sign autographs. The stables at Graceland even became known as Rising Sun stables after this famous equine and his equally famous rider. A weird but wonderful fact!

Becky :)

28th October 2010 (PM!)
Hello again,
Just another little newsflash! Some of the Elvis models have arrived in stock. Traditional Scale Rising Sun and the Resin Elvis & Rising Sun model have arrived! Woo! And the Stablemate Breast Cancer Horse has arrived too. Christmas have definately come early!! Please visit the Christmas section for more details and pictures.

28th October 2010:
Afternoon All,
Christmas is here at Utterly Horses! Jewel and the Christmas Ornaments have arrived…. and they are gorgeous! Jewel is a fantastic golden buckskin, with a glittery costume covered in rich fabrics and beads. We will hopefully get one out of the box in the next day or so and then we can see him in all his splendor. I will of course post pictures! I did manage to snap a quick picture of him in his box, which can be found below:

The Christmas ornaments are lovely too, especially the new Welsh Pony and Carousel Ornaments. I have to admit that the carousel ornament found its way into my collection and will make its debut on our Christmas tree in just over a months time. The Strirrup ornmanent features Jewel encased in a silvertone strirrup and the Artists Signature ornament will look lovely on the tree. It’s made from glass, with pictures of Thoroughbreds on either side. With the lights of the Christmas tree behind it, it will look spectacular!

Talking of Christmas trees, next Monday marks the day our office Christmas tree offically goes up! Yay! Be sure to check back Monday for a picture! Thinking about it, it’s not that long until Christmas, just under 2 months. If you haven’t visited our Christmas section, gallop on over to have a look at all our Christmas only models and new giftsets that we have put together for the festive season. Some of the items are limited, so if something is on your wishlist, please order it sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

13th October 2010:
Good Afternoon All, I’m back from the Horse of the Year Show and wow, what a busy week!
The jam packed van, the team and myself travelled up to Birmingham NEC on the Tuesday to build our stand. There was no space left in the van at all; even the front cab was squeezed full of boxes, goodies and food supplies. The little grey walled stand was to become our home for 6 days, with 13 hours of each day being spent on it. Our stands always become a wall of colour when they are finished, which when you see the before and after pictures of the stand you can see what I mean! It takes us approximately 6-8 hours to build a stand from scratch and you usually find that we tweak things during the following dates so we get things looking just right!

 The Finished Stand

Butterscotch our mascot also travelled with us to the show and as usual found an army of new fans wanting to take him home at the show! One day we will have to make him a rug to wear at the shows to keep him warm and cosy, maybe even a travel set for when he is riding in the van too! No there is an idea!

Whilst we were at the show we did manage to sneak away to watch a bit of the show. We saw the Knights of Middle England display which were fantastic! I loved the horses costumes and have a plan to recreate some of it in model versions one day! We also managed to catch some of the Puissance which is where the horses jump over a wall that gets higher every round. Ladina B would make a fantastic model horse especially when Locarno is already part of the range. Hmmm, perhaps we should put that suggestion forward.

Becky Signing AutographsI must say a big hello to some UH customers who came to see us at the show. A BIG hello to Sophie, Bea, Isabella, Rosie and Fiona. Also, huge congratulations to Georgia for winning her class with her pony. It is an amazing achievement! Thank you also to everyone who asked for my autograph and pictures. Always happy to oblige!!

If you came to our stand at the show you should have received a goody bag. We had different things in the bags each day  but what I wanted to say that if you got a colouring competition sheet, don’t forget to send it back to us before the closing date on the 31st October. Other goody bags also included unpainted stablemates for you to paint at home. If you received one of these, please send us pictures of your painted models. We would love to see them and put them online for everyone to see. I remember one customer saying that they would paint it green with purple spots. That’s one model I would love to see!!

So what has been happening since we got back from HOYS. Well, you might notice the red button on the top left hand side of the website. Christmas!! Yes, it’s that time of year where we share with you our Christmas ranges and goodies. This section will feature all the Christmas only items and seasonal products like Jewel the Christmas horse and the Breyer ornaments. It’s going to take me a couple of days to get the section fully stocked with all the Christmas goodies so please bare with me, but a majority of the items can be found there at the moment. There is even 4 new giftsets! 2 Traditional, 1 Pony Parade and 1 gift themed set.

Talking about Jewel, this model is now available to be pre-order, together with 5 of the Breyer Ornaments. Please visit the Christmas Special section to view the complete range.

Well, that’s my news for today but I’m sure I’ll have more exciting things to tell you tomorrow.

Speak to you all soon
Becky

4th October 2010:
Morning! Wow, its been a busy start to the week. Goodies from Breyers Mid Year range have just arrived! New horses include Enchanted Forest, Sapphire, Western Riding Set and Cloud Nine in addition to new accessories like a Green/Yellow Truck & Trailer, Dog House and a Dog Agility Set. The Treasure Hunt horses are also back in stock too! Gallop on over to our new products section to see the new arrivals! Click here.

Talking about new things, the Green and Yellow Truck and Trailer have now replaced the old Red Truck and Trailer. The red set have been retired and will be no longer available. A nice bright set for a wintery time of year.

And to add to the crazyiness, we are off to Horse of the Year tomorrow and i have packing still to do. Its all go!

Becky :)

29th September:

If you are going to HOYS, please drop by to say hello, look at all our horses and pick up your goody bag. Our stand is number: O8C. We will a wide range of models with us, including some you might have not seen before. We are also taking the dinosaurs along for the ride too so that will make it interesting!! Come along, say hello and meet the team. J

Talking about HOYS and all things wintry, there are 87 days until Christmas or just under 3 months which means that there is plenty of time to start writing your wishlist. Talking of Christmas and wishlists, as promised, here is a sneaky peek at the cover of our UH Christmas catalogue. Esprit it our cover star this time, galloping through the snow delivery goodies that are hidden in his saddlebags. I love the snowy scene and had a lot of fun creating it! I have to admit that I didn’t get the flour out this time to create the snowy look but instead a bit of computer wizardry- it’s a little less messy! Our Christmas catalogue features all the new models from both the Breyer Mid Year and Christmas ranges, in addition to some new UH giftsets. New horses include: Cloud Nine, Zenyatta, Ravel, Sapphire, Enchanted Forest, Rising Sun in addition to two old favourites making a very welcome return- the Dog Agility and Dog House sets. There is also a very snazzy yellow and green truck and trailer which is sure to make you stand out on the yard! Jewel the Christmas horse in addition to some of the Christmas ornaments can also be found in here too!

Our Christmas catalogue is at the printers at the moment and will be posted out to everyone in the next few weeks. All items featured in the brochure will be uploaded to the website after Horse of the Year Show (it’s on the top of my list of things to do once I return!). This means that items will be available to pre-order or fingers crossed, some of them might be in stock and ready to gallop out to you. One date for your diary that I must mention before I forget is our last order date for Christmas, which is the 20th December 2010.

Have you noticed the new section on the website by the way? If you look on the left hand bar you will see the new “International” section. We have customers all over the world and we wanted to create a way to make it a little easier for our International customers to order models. When we send an order outside of the UK, the postage cost is calculated per order as each order can weighs very differently but now we have been able to provide postage costs for a certain combination of items. The idea is that you can choose the items you would like, 2 Traditional Horses for example, and the postage cost at the same time, allowing us to get your order on its way as quick as possible.

Orders that are not covered by the Shipping Costs, due to their weight, are quoted by the UH team. You will receive an email shortly after your order is placed confirming the postage cost and a link to how this can be paid for. Nice and simple! Either way, we can send orders all over the globe and are still waiting for an Eskimo to order a model horse so we can say we ship to all five continents!! If there is an Eskimo out there reading this, living in the Antarctic, please get in touch!

15th September 2010:
Hello! Look who galloped into our warehouse today- 3 new horses from Safari! The first model is a gorgeous Icelandic model, portrayed in the breeds notable gait- the toit. The Icelandic horse is a breed that was developed in Iceland and stands at an average of 13-14 hands. We've named this little guy "Bjorn" and his picture is below (left).

Bjorn

James and Dancing Bells is fabulous horse and rider set, which can be seen in the picture above. James is the rider whilst Dancing Bells is a Holsteiner stallion, and they are performing an Upper Level Dressage Movement. This set is one that we are longing to get into the showring as we think it would do really well. Its very detailed and the horses expression is so lifelike! Andrey and Streaming Light is another Safari horse and rider set. Audrey is riding her horse, Streaming Light, who is a Gypsy Vanner Mare bareback. Two great sets that we are sure that you are going to love!

So, what else has been happening here in UH land. Well, we are working on Christmas at the moment so its all Go! Go! Go!. We have been putting the finishing touches on our UH Christmas Catalogue which will be dropping through your letterboxes towards the end of October. In the Catalogue you will find all the new items that we could not squeeze into our normal catalogue, so products like Jewel the Breyer Christmas Horse, New Wooden Stables, Breyer Models and of course some new UH giftsets. In a week or so i will give you a sneeky peak of our wintery front cover so keep checking back!

27th August 2010:
Good Afternoon. Good news today, really really good news in fact! Next week sees the arrival of not only the new Breyer Stablemates (WOO!) but tack for the Traditional range of models too! (Double WOO!) We have waited for these items to finally gallop into the UH stable for absolute yonks and its so nice to post news of their imminent arrival! There are 8 new Stablemates in the range, 6 of which are new moulds. Each model represents one of disciplines of the World Equestrian Games (WEG)- Jumping, Eventing, Dressage, Reining, Endurance, Driving, Vaulting and Para Dressage. Each one is sure to be very popular although from talking with the UH team in the office, i think the driving stablemate will be the most popular! Pre-Order your Stablemate models here.

News from our tack room is that we have lots of English and Western items due in too! So much in fact that we think that you might be spoilt for choice! Sets that will be back into stock are: 2041 English Riding Set (Blue & Yellow), 2451 English Riding Set (Burgundy), 2042 Western Riding Set (Pink & Green), 2467 Cimarron Western Saddle (a fantastic saddle!) aswell as our favourite 2464 Devon Huntseat Saddle and 2465 Stoneleigh Dressage Saddle. All of these items can be pre-ordered from this section of the website. One thing that i must remember to mention is that this tack might be limited, as in we might run out before Christmas (eek!), so its best to get them whilst you can.

Also, don't forget that our Goody Bag offer ends on the 31st August 2010 (Tuesday).  We are giving away a FREE Goody Bag of Horsey Goodies and Activities with each order. Each Goody Bag contains an Utterly Horses Summer Activity Sheet, a Utterly Horses Summer Colouring Competition entry form, I Love Horses Pen and pencils.

The theme of the goody bag is to make and create, to banish any boredom that you may have over the long summer holidays. Our Summer Activity sheet has 7 different activates on it including how to draw horses, cook up a storm in the kitchen with our recipe for Chocolate Oaties and even make jumps for your model horses! There are also two exciting competitions featured on the activity sheet that you can enter too- a short story and photo competition. These will both run over the summer holidays and each of the goodies that are also in your bag, the pen, pencil and eraser, will help you enter them both!

Our Summer Colouring Competition has also been launched and an entry form is also included- so there is plenty to do and create! The colouring competition horse this time is Utterly Mr Honeybug, a Thoroughbred Peter Stone Model. The UH team had lots of ideas for this colouring competition horse from turning him into a vaulting horse, a western pleasure mount or even a carriage horse! What will your horse become? Download your entry form here and get creative!

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend and don't forget to check our our Coming Soon section. Talk to you all in September!! :)

20th August 2010:
Hello All! Its been a while!  It has been a little bit of a long time since my last ramblings- where have I been? Under a rock?! Haha, sort of. For the last two weeks I have been away on holiday (or a late honeymoon) in America. I’m now back in the office and have lots of things to tell you. I hope you are sitting comfortably as I have a lot to share!

Segway!Where did I go in America? We went to visit San Francisco and Las Vegas, two places on the West Coast of the USA that are completely different. For example, weather wise, San Francisco was colder than the UK (which we didn’t think was possible. San Francisco is in California!) whereas Las Vegas was a balmy 43 degrees celsius, permanently. So I guess you could say we froze in San Francisco but then roasted in Las Vegas! Whilst in San Francisco, we visited Alcatraz , walked the Golden Gate bridge, rode the famous cable cars and even toured the city on a segway. A segway is those weird and wonderful two wheeled “things”… check out the picture, right. I took loads of pictures whilst I was there- over 1000 photographs!

Wild DonkeyIn Las Vegas we went to a few shows, visited the Grand Canyon via helicopter and even managed to play in a couple of the casinos without losing a fortune! I can happily report that we did win some money, although it wasn’t enough to fly us both home in a private jet! Also whilst we were in Vegas we hired a car for the day to get out of the city and see some non-touristy things. We went to the Hoover Dam (which is extremely impressive) and then went off the radar, driving roads that were in the middle of nowhere. It was really weird as you would be driving on a road in the middle of a desert with no buildings, vegetation, nothing as far as the eye could see. It was scary in one sense but really refreshing in another, to be seeing a part of Las Vegas that not many tourists get to see. Whilst driving on a road near a canyon, we saw a road sign for wild donkeys, which we both had a giggle at. We both said that you see signs for deer but donkeys?!

Moments later we actually saw a wild donkey! He was happily wandering in between the bushes at the side of the road, without seemingly a care in the world. It was quite odd to see!! We left him eating in the bushes and carried on the road. Ten minutes later we saw a car stationary in the distance and as we got closer, we saw that the car had stopped as there was a donkey in the road. We slowed as we got near the other car and I wound down my window, as well, I’m nosey! There standing next to the vehicle in front was a donkey smelling the car. His nose was smelling the roof whilst his big ears waggled in the hot afternoon sun. It was an unusual sight! I called over to the donkey and he plodded over, letting the car in front resume its journey. He then stood next to our car and then put his big head inside, through the open window. To say we were both a bit surprised was an understatement! After the donkey had deduced that we did not have anything of interest to eat, he pulled his head out of the car and wandered back over to the bushes at the side of the road and began picking at the sparse foliage. He was quite calm, content and so we left him happily munching and carried on our own journey. Take a look at the pictures of our wild donkey friend.

So, now I’m back from my travels and back in UH HQ. What has been happening whilst I have been gone? The good news is lots of things which I get to tell you about now. Are you ready?

UH 10th Birthday CompetitionFirstly, our Goody bag promotion is still running and ends on the 31st August 2010. A free goody bag is available with every order and contains an Utterly Horses Summer Activity sheet, a I love Horses Pen, Pencil and eraser. Within your goody bag you will also find details of three competitions. One is our Colouring Competition featuring Utterly Mr Honeybug, another is our Short Story Competition and also our Photo Competition. Details of all of these competitions are now available to view online (please click here) and some of the entries for our Photo Competition have been put online for you to see. One of the entries is also shown, right (thank you Tyra for sending it in). Gallop on over to our facebook page (or click here) to see them. Don’t forget that the competitions also finish on the 31st August 2010 so you have a few days left to enter. Lucky winners will have their pictures/story published on the Utterly Horses website aswell as a Traditional Scale Red Rum Model.

In Breyer Model news, more models have been added to the mid year range- Ravel, Zenyatta and Diamond Jubilee. Ravel is a bay horse created on the Idocus mould. In real life, Ravel is a dressage horse and USET Horse of the year for 2009. Zenyatta is a dark brown horse, created on the Lonesome Glory mould (also known as the Red Rum mould in this year’s range). Zenyatta is a 17hh racehorse who re-wrote racing history in 2009 by becoming the first mare ever to win the Breeders cup Classic and in 17 races she has won all 17! Diamond Jubilee (right) is a unusual horse and one I have to admit will be finding its way into my collection! 2010 is Breyers 60th Anniversary and to celebrate they have created Diamond Jubilee, a model that has been hand-crafted using authentic diamond dust. There are only 2010 models being made, with each one coming with a certificate of authenticity. Some exciting models that will be joining us in a few months time.

Ravel Zenyatta
Today have seen the arrival of some new faces in the form of new GeeGee models. Geisha, Gambit, Gabriel and Gemma are the latest additions and each one comes with lots of accessories to add to your stableyard including tack, rugs, haybales and brushes. We also have some new backpacks in, just in time for the start of the new school term. Our horse riding themed backpack has a large internal storage area and two external pockets that are ideal for putting drinks bottles into. It's got adjustable, padded straps on the back too and a carrying handle on the top. The backpack is made from vinyl with the funky purple horse riding pattern all over it and the backpack is opened via a zip. A Dinosaur themed backpack is also available. Pictures and more details can be found here.

I think I have forgotten to mention it before but UH is off on our travels to the Horse of the Year show on the 6th-10th October 2010. If you are visiting, don’t forget to drop by our stand (O8C) to say hello and pick up your free goody bag. We will have hundreds of models with us (and some dinosaurs too), aswell as special offers and some show offers too. Club members, don’t forget to bring your membership cards!

Christmas is less than 6 months away now (eek!) and Breyers Christmas line-up for this year has been revealed. Jewel is the 2010 Christmas Horse this year, created on the Showjumping Warmblood mould (also known as Mon Gamin from this years range) and bejewaled with gem covered saddle, bridle and saddle pad. He is a buckskin with no white markings and is the 14th in the Breyer Christmas series. Jewel is joined by several ornaments including a silver Stirrup ornament on a green ribbon with a small model of Jewel in the middle, a porcelain model of a grey Welsh pony, a prancing chestnut carousel horse and a hand-blown green glass bauble with images of horses on either side. Some of the ornaments are shown below and pictures of the Christmas range can be found here.

So, as you can see, it’s a been a busy few weeks both at UH HQ and out on my travels. I think I’ll need another holiday to recover! Hehe!

Have a great weekend everyone and talk to you next week.

Becky :)

23rd July 2010:
Afternoon All!
Its Friday (woohoo!) and for many of you i imagine its the end of school too for 6 weeks (you lucky things!). 6 weeks is an awfully long time, what are you all going to do!? Haha. I can't really remember much of my summer holidays off school to be honest. I remember thinking the first two weeks were fantastic and then it got really boring and i wanted to be back at school!! That and it always seemed to rain during the school holidays, endlessly!

So, school is out for the summer (as the song goes!) and that means FREE Goody Bags from Utterly Horses! Yes! Thats right! We are giving away a FREE Goody Bag of Horsey Goodies and Activities with each order to help keep you busy during the holidays. Each Goody Bag contains an Utterly Horses Summer Activity Sheet, a Utterly Horses Summer Colouring Competition entry form, I Love Horses Pen, Pencil and horse eraser.

Have fun and enjoy the goody bags!

16th July 2010:
Gooood Evening all. And, yes, i did mean to write the word evening!! Its 7.30pm and i'm still here, beavering away in UH HQ! The horses (and dinos!) are keeping me company so its not so bad, although they are very noisy chomping away on their haynets. So, what have i been up to recently? Its been a manic week, almost like a mini Christmas with mountains of boxes coming in and going out. Perhaps i better put the Christmas Carols CD on? (!)

You might have seen that we are having a horse auction at the moment, in which we are selling off lots of gems that we have found wandering around our warehouse looking lost. In todays lots that were uploaded, there were some 2001 Breyer models including Davy Crockett, Pegasus and the Pony Express. Other fantastic items we have found are resins, porcelains and even some rarer models. One such item is the Breyer Medalist Ponies Set, which includes one Gold, Silver and Bronze pony. These were made in 2008 to celebrate the Olympics and only 350 models were produced of each one. Gallop over to eBay to see our horse auctions. Maybe you can give a home to a horse?

Our 2010 catalogue is now officially released and i hope that you have all received your copy okay. If not, please request another copy through our "Request a Catalogue" page and we will get another one cantering its way to you. All of the new items can be found online and there are even some items on here that are not in our catalogue. I meant to ask what you all thought of the front cover? Drop me an email and let me know!

At the moment, we are running a promotion on the Saddle Club models. There is £5.00 off each of the Classic Scale Saddle Club models so its a perfect time to add that extra horse to you collection. Each of the Saddle Club models come with a horse, rider and tack. Talking of Saddle Club riders, did you notice Lisa on the front cover of the new UH catalogue?

Talking of new things, we have some old faces trot back into our stable, in the form of Red Rum and Victor & Viceroy. Both of these models were first released in 2006 and after a four year absence they make a welcome return to the Traditional Collection. They are also a UK Special Run models that are not available in other parts of the world! That brings our grand total of UK Special Run Breyer models to the grand total of 4- Red Rum, Victor & Viceroy, Pippin and Strikey. Wow! We are spoilt!

On the subject of special run Breyers, the 2010 Breyerfest program is now available to download. The program details what happens at Breyerfest, Special Models available aswell as sneak peaks of upcoming models. Check out the Diamond Jubilee Horse and other upcoming models! Click here to download your copy.

Mid Year news always makes me think of Christmas and i must mention the Breyer Christmas horse for this year- Jewel. Due for Christmas 2010, Jewel is arrayed in glimmering crystal beading, with a stunning saddle and saddle drape in hues of holiday green trimmed in gold. He's adorned from muzzle to tail in sparkling jewels that catch the light for extra sparkle and sits on a decorated gold-tone base. This elegant galloping buckskin sculpted by Susan Carlton Sifton, is the 14th horse in Breyer's holiday series. Jewel offers the realism you'd expect from the horse experts at Breyer and the holiday whimsy that adds an indefinable horsey charm to your Christmas decor.
He will be available to pre-order shortly.

Erm, what else. Due to our mini Christmas rush i'm a little behind with my things to do this week. I wanted to launch the 2010 UH Colouring competition this week but unfortunately have not got around to it as yet, so i must apologise. Keep an eye out for news of the new competition on the website next week, as well as another Birthday celebration event, which i know you will all love! I won't spoil the surprise but the good news is that its only a few days until next week. :)

Well, thats this weeks update. Canter back next week to find out what else i have been up to... and knowing me that can be quite a bit!!

Have a good weekend.
Becky :)

Afternoon! Have you seen the new items i have uploaded to the website over the last few days? We have some exciting new items including a Wooden Folding Horse stable for Traditional Collection Models. It features seven working doors, hay loft, ladder and removable wooden fence. It comes ready assembled and is ready for your models to move in! The unique design means you can open the stable to reveal stables on either side or leave it closed to create a stable style block. This stable is fantastic and we are so pleased to be able to include it in the Utterly Horses range. Click here to see a picture of this stable that is a must have!

Have a good weekend and speak to you all next week.

Becky

10th June 2010:
Knew i forgot to mention something. Just a little update on Esprit. They have been delayed, unfortunately, as the vets at the harbour (also known as customs), wanted to check that all the horses were okay. They are due into the country this weekend and so should be set free to us by next week. We apologise for the delay and would like to thank you for your patience. We are as excited as you to get this model into our stables!!

Becky :)

10th June 2010:
Hello All! Hope you have all had a good week. We have had some new arrivals today from Papo. The new Pony Parade Stable tools set is now available in addition to Tonto, Diamond, Antonio, Dot and Mystique. Gallop on over to the Pony Parade section to see these new faces.

Talking of new things, we have several new products on the website this week. Each giftset is a great starter selection of items that are perfect for the new collector or existing one to add to their growing herd.

The UH Team have also been busy this week making glittery ponies, well, soapie ponies to be exact. Our soapie ponies make washing easy and fun as the more hands they wash, the quicker the pony will be revealed. Made from natural glycerin soap and perfumed with a light mint fragrance, these glittery soaps have a pony hidden inside that are waiting to gallop free! Handmade by the UH team, each soap comes beautifully presented and makes an ideal little gift. They are perfect for party bags too! Click here to see some pictures.

Well, thats all for today. See you tomorrow!

Its been a lovely short week this week but my-o-my, do we manage to pack some things into it!! Where to start with all my news? Well, the Utterly Mr Honeybugs and Utterly Tom Truffles have been trotting out of the door to their new homes and  I thought you might like to see a picture that one owner sent of her Mr Honeybug tacked up in a fantastic handmade Western Parade Saddle Set. I think you will agree that he looks very handsome and can turn his hoof to anything! These models are going very quickly so if you have one on your wishlist, please order sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. Both models are strictly limited to just 36 pieces of each and once these are gone, thats it. No-more produced. Learn more about these models here.

Elvis and Rising SunTalking about new models, news of the Breyer Mid Year range has surfaced and there are some really nice things this year. Portrait models of Elvis Presley horses, Stablemate version of the Breast Cancer Awareness model, Yellow (!!) My other bit of good news is that our 2010/11 Catalogue is at the printers and should be back fairly soon. I will of course post details of when it has returned and when they are being mailed out so you can all keep an eye out for the postman. 28th May 2010:
Hello! Some really exciting news today! Today was the day our Birthday Celebrations officially started and the free Model celebration was launched. As you may or may not know, 2010 is Utterly Horses 10th Birthday and to celebrate it we are doing things that we have always wanted to do. Creating Utterly Tom Truffle and Utterly Mr Honeybug was one of these things and giving away FREE Breyer Traditional Model Horses is the second one on our celebration always- wanted-to-do list! Our free model celebration is where you can receive a Traditional Breyer model horse free by collecting any 6 Breyer Traditional Model Horses. Select from Treasured Moves the beautiful pinto Quarter Horse mare, Baxter the prancing Grey Morgan or Chili, the handsome chestnut pinto as your free model. There are four Traditional horses- Isadora Cruce the medicine hat Mustang, Rachel Alexandra the Thoroughbred, Misty and Stormy (with book), Smarty Jones the world famous racehorse. All models are in stock and available to purchase now. Click here for pictures.

3 retired models that also make a welcomed return are Fire Magic (the 2005 Breyerfest Special Run), Newsworthy, the jumping pony and Treasured Moves the gorgeous paint mare who debuted in the range in 2007! How time flys! Thats over 3 years ago!!

Talking of models making a return, back in 2008, Breyer produced four models as part of the Ethereal Collection symbolizing the elements Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Each model was created by Breyer Master Sculptor Kathleen Moody and featues a stamp of the horse's name and "Ethereal Collection" on the belly. They also include a Certificate of Authenticity and a removable, decorative base. Well, these four models are back into stock at Utterly Horses, allowing you to collect all 4, all in one go! Earth is a colourful pinto, Wind a fleabitten grey, Fire a fiery appaloosa and Water a dark dapple grey. Collect the set! Click here for more details.

18th May 2010:
Afternoon All! Recently our Utterly Horses retail shop moved premises and whilst packing away our many stables of horses, we uncovered some treasures! Within this section you will discover the goodies we found, from retired models of long ago to exquisite porcelain models and resins. We even found some fantastic Breyer Animals and Wildlife models that have not been in production since 2004! Many of the items within this section are one off items, so if you see something you like make sure you lasso it straight away before it gallops off into the sunset! Here is the link to this exciting section.

10th May 2010:
Hello All,
Gosh, i have been a little bit quiet over the last couple of weeks. Have a been on holiday? Nope. Stuck in an exotic country due to volcanic ash? No, sadly not. So, where have i been or what have i been up to?! Well, , I have been helping to move UH into shiny new custom built premises! Yes, you read that correctly! Today was our first proper day in our new offices and i'm happy to report that all the horses (and dinosaurs) are settling in nicely. They love their new stable and have been very good at keeping it very tidy (so far- it properly won't last!).

Our new home is still located in Essex and is funnily enough not far from our last location which we sadly outgrew. The new UH HQ features a beautiful warehouse that is stocked to the brim with your favourite models and has space for any new goodies we find on our travels. It has even been designed to our specifications which makes it extra funky because we have little corridors that lead to more racks of horses with little nooks and crannies for those small things. We even have a scary dinosaur corner (Grr!). In short, its totally and utterly fantastic!

Lots of things have been changing over the last couple of weeks and our Utterly Horses retail shop has also moved. It is no longer in Finchingfield and we are currently searching for alternative premises at the moment, after our original plan for new shop premises fell through unfortunately. When we were clearing the shop out it was like going through a horse shaped treasure chest though! I had forgotten how many different types, makes and models there were stabled there! There were Painted Ponies, Lakeshores, Breyer Porcelains, Ex-Display Horses, Retired Models... there as even a Breyer Elephant! Clearing the shop took a little longer than expected as i kept stopping every five minutes to look (and play!) with all the horses.

Over the next few days, i will be uploading these items to the website in a special section that will feature items from our UH retail shop. Items in this section will be limited and so if you see something you like, be quick before it gallops away. Of course i will let you all know when this goes live but please be patient. It will take me a couple of takes to photograph and catalogue everything!

Talking of new items, our newest additions to our range are the Pegasi and Unicorns from Schliech, aswell, as some new Dogs. We have a Pegasus Horse and Foal and a rearing Unicorn and Unicorn foal. Both are absolutely gorgeous and have lots of details on them, including glitter and plant or sun designs. The new dogs are brilliant too and to our surprise are 1:24th scale not 1:12th scale as previously expected. Well, we think they should be 1:24th; they look much better standing beside a Pony Parade horse rather than a Classic one. They are a little dwarfed by Classic Horses! There are three families of Dogs- Pug, Labrador and Great Dane and these can be found under the Dogs & Cat category in the Pony Parade section.

Well, thats my little update for today. No doubt there will be more tomorrow as things are getting back to normal. What news will i bring tomorrow? Hmm, it could be something horse shaped and chocolate like. I'm thinking Truffles- and not the edible version! :)

In other news, we have a little promotion running at the moment. Well, may we introduce to you the totally and utterly unique model horse hobby!

In celebration of the our Model Horse Hobby, we are giving away FREE Model Horse Magazines with all orders over £15. The Model Horse Magazine is the essential magazine for model horse collectors and enthusiasts published by Utterly Horses and is a fantastic way to learn more about the hobby.

With the Model Horse Magazine you can find out about upcoming models, equine model events and many aspects of the model horse hobby including how to create your own tack, paint your own model, enter your model into photo showing and so much more! The Model Horse hobby features many exciting activites, including photo showing in which you enter photographs you have taken of your model horse to the a show holder or judges. The photos are then judged just like a real life horse show with each one being judged on its realism and how true to life it appears. Its a little like showing a real life horse! 14th April 2010:
Afternoon. Today has been a day of sorting out our warehouse... and wow!, its surprising what you find when you really have a good sort out. We uncovered boxes of goodies that had been hiding under the back of one of the storage shelves. Goodies include some unpainted Dragonstone models (released on our website in 2005!!), Northlight Resin Models, Companion Animals, Porcelain Breyer pieces, Vintage Breyer Christmas items and even a Breyer Cat which was released as a holiday item back in 2003! Talk about a blast from the past today!!

All of the goodies that we have found today have been uploaded to our UH Club Members page. Club Members- visit the "secret" page to find out more! Many of the items are one off pieces and so once they are gone, they are gone. Be quick if you see something you like. After a certain time, these pieces will then be offered to everyone but UH club members get first pick.

I'm off back into the Warehouse to see what else i can find. Maybe its like the tardis.. and there is a secret swimming pool and library somewhere too?!!"
